Giuseppe Michele Giacomini, was born in Genova on 22 September 1948. After obtaining his Law degree at the University of Genoa, he was called to the Bar in the Circoscrizione del Tribunale di Genova in 1975, and practices law as a Barrister.

He is specialized in Criminal Law ,particularly in the field of business; (fiscal, company , customs, Environment , Safety at work, Professional and Medical liabilities .

The main criminal cases in which Mr. Giacomini has given its judicial assistance are ( the names of the defendants are not given –with one exception- for reasons of privacy):

  • the bankruptcy of the Ambrosiano Bank (defense of Mr. Orazio Bagnasco);
  • complicated environmental matters on behalf of important Italian and
  • Foreign companies established in Italy.
  • safety at work ;
  • medical liabilities;
  • The National Trust ( Le Belle Arti);
  • intellectual Property ,
  • the Customs,
  • the case connected to the “G 8 di Genova” (defense of the P.S.);
  • crimes connected to Public Administrators;
  • crimes connected to Public contracts and Port concessions (e.g. the case of the “Multipurpose Genova”).

He has also dealt with cases dealing with Human Rights when involved with crime. He is also specialized in European Union Law and Competition, and in this field has followed numerous important disputes in front of the the European Court of Justice and the European Commission (see the series of Community cases in the sector of European Law and Competition);

In 1992 He founded the Law firm of “Conte & Giacomini Avvocati”, extending his professional activity to the Civil and Commercial Law.

Mr. Giacomini has had numerous visits abroad for both study and work, in France, England, Belgium, Switzerland, The United States, and China.
